Bike route from Janovičky via Głuszyca and Three Valleys Pass

Janovičky – Głuszyca Górna – Głuszyca – Rybnica Leśna – Łomnica – Janovičky

Description of the route

The route begins in the small mountain resort of Janovičky. Follow cycle route no. 4501 to Przełęcz pod Czarnochem, then continue along the local road, following the yellow markers to the trail junction in Głuszyca Górna. At the cycle route signpost, turn left onto Polish cycle route G8 and ride to Kamyki, a disused flooded quarry that has been converted into a recreation area. Stay on G8 as it skirts the quarry, passing several viewpoints overlooking the water. Next, join cycle route G1 and ride past Głuszyca Górna railway station. Then switch to route G6, which passes the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Poland and leads into the town of Głuszyca. Go through the town centre past the Motor Vehicle Museum, then follow Kolejowa Street towards the railway station. Turn left and take cycle route G1 to Łomnica. At the small ponds, turn right and follow the unmarked local road past the campsite until you reach cycle route G5. At the car park, turn left and follow G5 uphill to the saddle below Gomólnik. If you decide not to ride up to the viewing platform below Gomólnik Mały, turn right and keep climbing towards Skalna Brama. This natural rock formation stands below the ruins of Rogowiec Castle, also known as Hornšperk, and the surrounding area offers several viewpoints. From Skalna Brama, follow cycle route G7 along forest tracks across the hillside to the waterfall on the Rybna stream above the little village of Rybnica Mała. From the waterfall, follow the minor road upstream beside the Rybna to Rybnica Leśna, with its wooden Church of St Hedwig and wooden bell tower. Continue upstream alongside the Rybna, passing a large melaphyre quarry, until you reach Przełęcz Trzech Dolin. The Andrzejówka mountain chalet, which has a restaurant, stands at the pass. From the pass, descend along cycle route G3 into the valley of the Złota Woda stream. Join route G8 and follow the stream through the Trzy Strugi junction to the upper end of Łomnica. Just beyond the football pitch, turn right onto the minor road beside the stream. After around 1 km, turn right again and ride up along the unmarked forest track to the ridge at Przełęcz Trzy Koguty. Continue along the border track on the ridge, crossing Jedlový vrch. At the cycle route signpost, take waymarked cycle route G8 down the eastern side of Bukový kopec, also known as Bukowa Góra, to the border trail junction at Przełęcz pod Czarnochem. Finally, follow route no. 4501 along the forest road back to Janovičky.
