Bike route from Broumov via Wambierzyce and Nowa Ruda

Broumov – Radków – Wambierzyce – Nowa Ruda – Tłumaczów – Otovice – Broumov

Description of the route

The route begins at the car park beside the Cyklodům Broumov visitor centre in Broumov. From there, it crosses Mírové náměstí, with its historic Marian Column, and Malé náměstí, with its fountain, before reaching the Baroque Church of St Wenceslas. Below the church, turn right and head up the gentle slope past the inconspicuous former hospital Church of the Holy Spirit to the wooden cemetery Church of Our Lady. Follow waymarked route no. 4148 for a short distance to the turning for Křinice. From there, continue along route no. 4000, passing Broumov airfield and riding through Martínkovice to the Baroque Church of St Mary Magdalene in Božanov. An asphalt connecting road then takes you across the border to the Polish town of Radków. Just below the main square, join the Kłodzko Saint James's Way (Kłodzka Droga św. Jakuba) and follow it to Wambierzyce and the Basilica of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. There, join the red Main Sudetes Trail (Główny Szlak Sudecki) and follow it to Ścinawka Średnia. After crossing the bridge over the Ścinawka River, turn left and follow route ER-8 past Kapitanowo Castle to the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Ścinawka Górna. Continue uphill along route ER-8 for another 4.5 km towards Góra Świętej Anny. Shortly before the settlement, turn left off the road onto a field track. Follow the track to the Pod Krępcem saddle, then continue past the church and restaurant to the lookout tower on Góra Świętej Anny. Descend along the Two Towers Route (Dwie Wieże) to the junction by the small chapel. Turn left there and follow cycle route ER-8 into Nowa Ruda, arriving at the MOK cinema. Turn right and follow the waymarked cycle route to the turning for Jasna Street. Continue along Jasna until you join the purple cycle route. Follow it to the Former Nowa Ruda Mine, where you can take an underground tour and visit the Mineral Museum. From the museum, take Obozowa Street uphill to Świdnicka Street. Turn left and follow waymarked cycle route 002A onto Cmentarna Street. From the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, follow the riverside path to Aleksandra Fredry Street. Continue along this street, following the purple markers past the football stadium and outdoor swimming pool and out of the town. Follow cycle route ER-8 alongside the Włodzica River to Włodowice. Continue past Sarny Castle and then alongside the Ścinawka River through Tłumaczów to the border crossing at Otovice. There, join waymarked route no. 4020, which follows the cycle path beside the Stěnava River back to Broumov.
