“Adršpach–Poland Expedition” Route

Adršpach – Libná – Łączna – Mieroszów – Zdoňov – Adršpach

Description of the route

The route begins at Horní Adršpach railway station. Follow the waymarked red cycle route no. 4036 past the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, then climb gradually along a track through the fields to Libná, a former stoneworkers’ settlement. At the junction, turn left onto route no. 4149 and follow the forest track until it meets the Polish Cistercian Trail, or Szlak Cystersów. This follows the road over the pass beneath Strážný vrch, through the village of Łączna and past the little Łączna Zoo, before reaching the remarkable sandstone formations of Czartowskie Skały, or Devil’s Rocks, and Samotna above the village of Różana. Continue through Różana on the Mieroszów Blue Cycle Route. From the junction with the road to Zdoňov, follow cycle route no. 4020 through Mieroszów to the Czerwona Skała rest area and nature trail in Golińsk. Turn right there and ride through Golińsk to the upper end of the village. At the small pond, turn left and take the short connecting track to the Mieroszów Green Cycle Route. This initially follows a track through the fields before climbing through the forest beneath Buková hora. It then traverses the slopes below the Mirošovské stěny ridge before reaching the road to Zdoňov and rejoining waymarked route no. 4020. Follow this route across the border at Horské sedlo and descend past the Loděnice campsite into Zdoňov. Ride through almost the entire village, passing the Church of the Holy Trinity and its restored rectory. Immediately after the small bridge over Zdoňovský potok, turn right and follow the track through the fields to the Chapel of St John of Nepomuk. From the chapel, a steep path leads uphill past the Zdoňov Menhirs outdoor sculpture exhibition and beneath Křížový vrch to the turning for the viewpoint among the rocks. Descend along a forest track, following the Křížový vrch-Adršpach Nature Trail, until you reach the main car park at the entrance to Adršpach Rocks. Turn right and follow cycle route no. 4020 along the road through Adršpach, passing a number of restaurants and refreshment stops as well as Adršpach Château, which houses the Climbing Museum and several other exhibitions. Continue back to Horní Adršpach railway station.
