Route description
The route starts and finishes at the Chata pod Korunou chalet in Martínkovice. It’s an interesting route not only because it’s competitive and passes through mostly the peaceful countryside of the eastern end of the Broumov Walls, taking in the villages of Božanov, Otovice and Šonov with three of the Baroque churches making up the ‘Broumov Group’ and winding through the entire Broumov Basin to the foot of the eastern end of the volcanic Javoří Mountains. Following the slopes of this rugged mountain ridge and offering numerous panoramic views, the tracks through the forests and fields take you through the little recreational resort of Janovičky and the upper end of the village of Heřmánkovice close by the villages of Hynčice, Jetřichov and Ruprechtice, with another Baroque church of the Broumov Group. Skirting the well-preserved ruin of the Laudon Chapel with views far and wide, the route again leads along dirt roads to the transverse crossing of the Broumov Basin around the village of Jetřichov below Honský Špičák at the foot of the northern part of the Broumov Walls. You pass St. Hubert’s Chapel with the Stations of the Cross and come to the Amerika restaurant at the upper end of the village of Křinice, from where you follow the route of the local municipal nature trail along a forest path to St. Anne's Chapel at the top of the village of Martínkovice. From there it’s just a short ride along the forest path back to Chata pod Korunou.
