Meziměstí to the memorial on Bukowa Góra

A physically moderately challenging exploratory circuit that mostly runs off-road along forest trails and dirt tracks as well as quiet roads with a number of important natural and cultural sights along the way.

Meziměstí – Mieroszów – Łączna/Zdoňov – Buková hora – Vernéřovická studánka – Vernéřovice – Meziměstí 

Route description

From Meziměstí, head through the border crossing in Starostín to Mieroszów, along biking route No. 4020. Around 300 metres after the turn-off to Golińsk, you’ll see a new nature trail on the left, as well as the distinctive geological feature of Czerwona Skała (Red Rock). As you leave Mieroszów, you can take a short detour to the right and stop at the lookout tower there to get a bird's eye view of the surrounding countryside. Below that, join the blue hiking trail and follow it up the road towards Łączna. Some 150 metres before the beginning of the village you can take a detour off to the right along a dirt road to the tourist shelter at Czartowskie Skały (Devil's Rocks) and see another unique local geological attraction. Then, ride into the village of Łączna and after passing the mini-zoo turn left following the green hiking trail markers towards Zdoňov. Below the Loděnice Car Camp, where you can grab a drink and a bite to eat, in the direction of Zdoňov, turn left onto biking route No. 4036 and follow the forest trail to Bukowa Góra with its carved stone Crosses of Reconciliation. From the signpost on Bukowa Góra, continue downhill along the yellow hiking trail to the Vernéřovice spring and the ‘Soul Kostel’ church. From there, take the track through the fields following the red markers, ride through the village of Vernéřovice and then back to Meziměstí past the Sun Gate sandstone monument. You can pass the time while waiting for the train by visiting the Railway Museum in the station building or the nearby multi-purpose Walzel Centre.
